Afghanistan: What the 'Red Dawn' version of Obama's speech would look like

I couldn’t find the exact and more appropriate clip online from the 1984 classic “Red Dawn” that I was hoping to use (the one where the Cuban colonel and the Russian political officer have a conversation about Afghanistan, Vietnam, and “winning hearts and minds.) So instead I have chosen another bit so we can get psyched for Obama’s speech tomorrow night.

(Note: Though funny, there is something fundamentally unsatisfying about using irony as a primary means of political criticism. Also, the scene above is John Milius’s homage to the Colonel Mathieu briefing scene in Battle of  Algiers, another film worth viewing again, preferably in the next 48 hours.)
